An introduction

Best studying. Ever.

Offering a unique, distraction-free space, Tranquil brings the lecture hall to you, outer space, a sunset, and the deep ocean. Study your flashcards without interruptions or notifications. Find your study groove with effortless, immersive studying.

The problem

Students face various challenges, including studying in social environments and social media temptations. To gain insights, we conducted an online survey and over-the-phone interviews with volunteers. Our findings revealed that while students commonly use study applications and platforms, they lack in areas like reducing external distractions, ease of use, and advertisements.

Designing for visionOS

When designing Tranquil, we needed to grasp the fundamentals of Apple Vision Pro and Spatial Computing, the seamless blending of physical and digital worlds. Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) helped us understand visionOS compared to iOS.

Initially, our designs didn’t align with the HIG. However, in Tranquil 1.0, we adapted our designs to meet the HIG’s requirements for an immersive, high-quality, and safe user experience. Transparent windows allow users to remain aware of their surroundings without disrupting the content they’re viewing.
